Truck
4 was designed at the same time with our 2008 Sutphen Monarch
Pumper, Engine 4-4. It took nearly 2 years from the start of the
design and specification process to delivery. The ‘SPH’ model is
brand new design from Sutphen. The SPH model has cutting edge
safety features that prevent driving the ladder into the body of the
truck, a larger bucket, increased load capacity, and nearly 50% more
compartment space. Using a 5 section ladder, the Truck 4 is nearly
3’ shorter than our 1997 tower. Truck 4 is also one of the first
tower trucks built by Sutphen to meet the federally mandated ‘2007’
emission standards. Truck 4 is second due on all structure fires,
rescues and responds mutual aid as needed.
